Here is Susan W's success story.

I simply like French, which I studied in high school so long ago. In the 10th grade, my french teacher wanted me to spend the summer on a Normandy farm, which I readily agreed to but my parents did not... When I retired from the Federal government in 2007, I decided to make up for my early disappointment and started visiting France through the Vermont Bicycling Trips travel company (VBT). To prepare for the trips, I refreshed my knowledge through various training aids such as Duolingo.com, NewInSlowFrench.com , Yabla.com and Frantastique. From my experience the latter two are the most helpful in grasping verbal communications. I would eventually like to spend an extended time in France but for the moment that will have to wait...Learning another language is good for the brain and it is unfortunate that in the US there is not immediate need to do so...
